`Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole'.
Roger Caros
This is so true and one of the reasons that I wanted to publish
'Emma's Story'. Quite simply, I wanted to share my charismatic,
quirky, sensitive and totally wicked dachshund - with fellow
animal lovers.
I have tried to capture the fun and emotion in Emma's life in a
light, amusing and poignant way - from full-on canine exuberance
to aristocratic elegance - and all the stages in between.
In a style reminiscent of the late James Herriot (It shouldn't
happen to a Vet) - 'Emma's Story' will take you on a rollercoaster
of our experiences and emotions as we tackle life's challenges
together.

I looked in the corner and saw a nervous little pup trying to
hide from all the action under a torn sheet of newspaper. Our
eyes met and something clicked. I heard a far off voice saying,
"I'll take this one"
I couldn't believe I said that!
Mayhem! Upheaval! Chaos! A few choice phrases to describe
life with Emma. Nothing in my previous experience as a dog
owner had prepared me for this one-woman dachshund
demolition squad. I had also brought home an imposter. The
quiet, shy lass who had hidden under the newspaper and torn
so much at my heart-strings, had been replaced by a confident,
swaggering, beer-bellied pup equipped with two rows of wickedly
sharp teeth, capable of chewing anything and everything within
reach.
